Proud of our past, looking forward to the future. . .

On February 8,1938, a Federal Charter was issued to Lihue Federal Credit Union covering the employees of The Lihue Plantation Company, Ltd. and its wholly owned subsidiaries; East Kauai Water Company, Kauai Stores and Waiahi Electric Company (merged with Kauai Electric Company).

In 2007, we changed our name to Garden Island Federal Credit Union when we expanded our field of membership to include all residents on Kaua’i and their immediate families.

Today, we have grown and become a vital and dynamic financial institution and we are proud to continue to serve the unique needs of the residents on Kaua’i and their immediate family members. As a not-for-profit credit union, we strive to do what’s right for our membership as a whole so we can bring real value to each and every member. We offer loans with affordable rates and manageable terms and we build financial security by providing a safe place for our member-owners to deposit savings and earn higher dividends.

Garden Island FCU has three (3) full-service branch offices; our main branch is in Lihue located at 2973 Kele Street, our second branch is located in the Historic Koloa Plantation Building at 3417 Poipu Road in Koloa, and our 3rd branch is located in the Kapaa Shopping Center at 4-1105 Kuhio Hwy in Kapaa.
